If you’ve a rooted Redmi Go then you may have noticed that it still downloads OTA updates however they can’t be installed.
This takes up plenty of system storage considering the original Redmi Go only has 8GB of internal storage space. Since you’ve root however it’s possible to delete OTA updates and restore the valuable space.
The OTA updates are downloaded in the following location inside the root directory: /data/ota_package
You’ll need a file manager with root permissions to browse this directory and delete the update package. I recommend MiXplorer though there are plenty of other file managers that can achieve the same.
